About Me

My Approach to sessions:

My goal in therapy is to support you in gaining insights and skills that allow you to navigate the challenges you face with tools and approaches that you will utilize long after we have had our time together.

Based on my years of practice so far, and observations over time, I have formulated a framework I use when working with clients. The degree to which this framework plays a role in our work together depends entirely on you and what you are bringing with you into session to work on. This framework is based on the three foundational pillars of Boundaries, Awareness, and Sense of Self. I have found that regardless of age, stage of life or challenge someone is facing, if these three concepts are well understood, they can serve as a strong framework from which to garner strength, compassion and resourcefulness to overcome whatever is in the way—including when the thing that is in the way, is ourselves.

My methods and tools I use in therapy are based on what your needs are. I use an integrative approach pulling from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, Trauma focused therapy, art therapy and a person centered approach and more. I adapt my approaches to you and who you are so this experience feels authentic and more easily integrative into your life. I can hold a lot of structure or be more relaxed. When working with kids, I will use art and play and story telling as ways to integrate learnings around emotions and emotional expression and processing. I love to educate my clients on emotions and approaches as we go.

I currently conduct all of my sessions virtually regardless of where you live and have appreciated the flexibility, opportunity and access virtual sessions have offered.

A little bit about me:

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and Washington, DC and am also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor through PSI ( Postpartum Support International). I have recently moved back to California with my husband, daughter and our two dogs after living in Washington, DC for the past two years. I am newly a mother and am grateful for the lived experience this has given me to continue to support my growth and ability to support my clients who are seeking support around parenting, pregnancy and postpartum. I enjoy leading as active a life as possible and do my best to practice what I preach and create space and time to make sure I am taking care of myself in order to best show up for my family, friends and clients.
